Since September 19th and the weekend of the La Salette Apparition Celebration, this local team of Rick Smith Maintenance Director), his son Ethan Smith, and Gus Chapman have been hustling to get the Christmas Light Display ready in time for the Thanksgiving day opening. It is a huge endeavor to get the lights set up, connected, and tested before opening day of the light season. Three former summer youth campers (Ed. George, and Butch) from Massachusetts who attended La Salette’s summer boys camp as far back as 1976 return to the shrine every year to assist Rick with getting all the electrical work done in time for the opening of the display. For their many years of volunteer work on the lights each received a Boston Boys framed picture of the lights … we thank all of these hard workers for the HOPE they will have given to all in the Upper Valley through the theme: HOPE … In the Midst of Darkness!
One Hundred and Seventy Fifth Jubilee Year Celebration & La Salette Pilgrim Statue: November 20th to the 30th
Pilgrim Statues of Our Lady of La Salette were blessed at the Council of the Congregation in late 2018. These statues blessed at a special ceremony were consigned to each Provincial and Regional Superior (or, in our case, Provincial Vicar), and will visit all communities and ministries over the course of the Jubilee year, beginning in September 2020. During the ten days that the statue will visit all in Enfield, a special Novena in honor of Our Lady of La Salette will be said each day. (Novena books from Father Ron Gagne to be used during the ten days will be available. The Novena will be said after each Mass during the time the statue is at our Enfield Shrine.
